Obituary of Tonia Lynn DeLong

Tonia L. DeLong, age 47 of Dayton and previously of Painesville, passed away on March 14, 2023. She was born on August 19, 1975 in Euclid to the late Leonard Combs and Joanne DeLong.

Tonia loved her family. They were the most important thing to her. If you were a friend, you were also family. She enjoyed cooking, making people laugh, and hanging out with her family. Tonia was working toward her culinary arts degree and dreamed of someday owning her own food truck. Tonia was the kind of person that would give anyone the shirt off her back and go without if she needed to. She loved her people and making everyone in the room laugh. She touched the lives of so many and will be greatly missed.

Tonia is survived by her dad, Christopher (Charolette) Dingley; her wife, Jamila (nee: Kinlock) DeLong; step-children, Adarius, Jordan, James, and Jelise; siblings, Timothy (Norma) DeLong, Christel (William) Hamilton, Christopher (Dorie) Dingley, Joseph (Susie) Dingley, and Brian Nagy. Tonia also leaves behind so many cousins, nieces, and nephews that she loved very much.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Merri Beth Nagy.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 19, 2023 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM at Johnson Funeral Home and Crematory, 368 Mentor Ave., Painesville, Ohio 44077. A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 20, 2023 at noon at the funeral home.
