Obituary of Belinda L. Bradbeer

Belinda L Bradbeer (Gains), age 61 of Madison passed away at her home on October 31, 2022 after a two year battle with pancreatic cancer.  She was born on September 11, 1961 in Painesville to the late Willie and Elmalene (nee: Cumberledge) Gains and remained a lifelong resident of Lake County.  Belinda worked as an Administrative Assistant for Perry Nuclear Power Plant and retired after 32 years.  

In 2013, Belinda discovered her passion for helping others and founded the non-profit Clean Start Help for Addicts and Families of Addicts. Through this organization, she helped nearly 1000 people get treatment for addiction and supported their families.  Belinda opened a sober house for men recovering from addiction in 2017, which Clean Start ran for 3 years. In 2017, Clean Start was the proud winner of the Ganley Subaru Share The Love Campaign.  Belinda loved spending time with her friends and family and enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports and camping.  She loved her two fur babies, Oliver and Olivia. Belinda also loved watching the Cleveland Browns and Lake County Captains.

Belinda is survived by her husband of 8 years, Pete; children, Crystal Schneider, Celeste (Daniel) Kenst, Cherise Minello, Kenneth D. Crockett; four step children, Renee (Bill) Coughlin, Kaitlin (Caleb) Shipley, Jonathan Bradbeer, and Aislin M. Bradbeer; grandchildren, Desiree Hawk, Tehya Reed, Destinee Kenst, Mya Reed, Sophia Minello, and Connor Coughlin; great grandchild, Gemma Hawk; siblings, Velora Stark, and Leon (Marilyn) Gains; many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Bradley Gains; and brothers-in-law, Robert Stark and Rudy Roskelly.

Belinda was a member of Perry First Baptist Church.  She requests friends and family to join in a celebration of life on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 1:00PM at Perry First Baptist Church, 3918 Main St., Perry, Ohio 44081.
