Obituary of Carmen Thomas Owen
Carmen Thomas "Jack" Owen age 98 of Painesville Twp. and previously of Richmond Hts., died on October 12, 2022 at his home. He was born on August 9, 1924 in Cleveland to the late David and Mary (nee: Halloway) Owen. Jack was the owner and operator of Mr. Donut in Wickliffe from 1978 until 1989. He was also a field engineer for Republic Structural Steel for 38 1/2 years, retiring in 1981. He was a member of St. Mary Church of Painesville where he particiapated in the Holy Name Society and St. Velocitous Church in Euclid. Jack was an avid card player and enjoyed roller skating.
He is survived by his children; Tom Owen and David (Sue) Owen; grandchildren, Thomas Owen, Lisa (Chris) Schauer, Amy (Ernie) Sladek, and Jessica (Matt) Gordon; as well as 8 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Bernice E. (nee: Walling); daughter-in-law, Sis Owen; siblings, Amelia Rahall, Azda Douglas, Edna Swift, Rose Lawicki, Fred Owen, Juanita Kucynski, and Loretta Sarges Bija.
A memorial mass celebrating the lives of Carmen and Bernice will be celebrated on Friday, October 21, 2022 at 10:00AM at St. Mary Church, 242 N. State Street, Painesville, Ohio 44077. Interment will be in All Souls Cemetery, Chardon, Ohio.
