Obituary of Jackie Lee Gibson

Jackie Lee Gibson, age 68 of Painesville died October 4, 2022 at Lake Med Nursing Home.  He was born on April 23, 1954 in Willoughby, Ohio to the late Minister John Wallace Sr. and Catherine Virginia Gibson.  Jackie worked as a nurse's aide, cook and other jobs for many years.  Jackie accepted Christ at an early age.  His hobbies were cooking, singing, being with his loved ones, helping others and giving God the glory. 

Jackie was preceded in death by his grandparents, Father Minister John Wallace Gibson Sr., brothers Tony Gibson, Keith Gibson, Embray Jackson, ex-wife Sharron Gibson.  Jackie Lee Gibson and Leora A. Morganfield were married June 18, 2006 at Christian Unity Baptist Church in Cleveland, Ohio  Leora has a daughter Daria Harris and son Darrel Harris Jr. 

Survivors include Mother Catherine Virginia Gibson of Painesville; brothers Pete Gibson of Mississippi, John Wallace Gibson Jr. of Painesville, Edward James (Pat)  of Painesville, sisters Virginia Taylor of Painesville, Eleanor Gibson of Painesville, Sharon Douglas (James) of Painesville, Sue Catherine Curry of Cleveland, Betty Stewart (Brian) of Painesville, children Brandy Smith of Painesville, Lynette Stewart-Johnson of Painesville, Brandon Lee Gibson Sr. (Alexandra) of Painesville, James Caldwell of Missouri, Tony Robinson of Missouri, Lakisha Alston of Missouri, special friend Debbie Miller and children of Painesville, nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends. 

Visitation will be October 10, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at First Church of Christ, 422 Mentor Avenue, Painesville.  Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church.  Burial will take place at a later date in Riverside Cemetery, Painesville.
