Obituary of James W. Harris

James W. Harris, age 69 of Painesville Twp., died on July 24, 2022 at David Simpson Hospice House.  He was born on November 29, 1952 in Cleveland to the late Earl and Dawn Harris, Sr.  Jim was a 1972 graduate of Eastlake North High School and was an Engine Lab Tech at Lubrizol Corp until his retirement in 2011.  After retirement from Lubrizol, Jim worked part time at Menard's and at Trader Joe's.  He was an accomplished drummer and played with several local bands.  Jim enjoyed woodworking, yardwork, landscaping, and gardening; but his greatest joy was being "Papa Bear" to his nine grandchildren.

Jim is survived by his wife, Barbara (nee: Martincic) whom he married in Willowick on September 27, 1975; his children, Elise (Greg Safarz) Lohr, Shawn (Angela) Harris, and Leah (Joshua) Bregy; nine grandchildren, Dawn Lohr, Gracieann Bregy, Emma Harris, McKenna Lohr, Noah Harris, Elijah Harris, Savannah Bregy, Olivia Harris, and Sophia Harris; and sister, Dawn Luse.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Earl Harris, Jr.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2022 from 11:00AM until the memorial service at 1:00PM at Johnson Funeral Home, 368 Mentor Ave., Painesville, Ohio 44077.  Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of the Western Reserve at www.hospicewr.org
