Obituary of Reynold Berkey
Reynold Andrew Berkey, age 91 of Painesville, died on June 15, 2022 at Kirtland Rehab. He was born on September 15, 1930 in Constantine, MI to the late Ora and Grace (nee: Hamman) Berkey. Reynold graduated from Constantine High School in 1947 and earned his B.S. from Michigan State University in 1951. He then attended the University of Iowa and graduated with his PhD in 1955 in Organic Chemistry. Reynold work for Diamond Shamrock and Master Builders. He enjoyed playing Poker, bowling, gardening, and fishing with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his children, Thomas (Linda) Parkin, Christy (Anthony) Brettrager, Lisa (Dale) Thompson; grandchildren, Jeremy and David Steener, James and Nicholas Holan, Ray Brettrager, Stacey Thompson, Daniel (Cheryl) Thompson, and Joshua (Rebecca) Thompson; 11 great grandchildren; 1 great, great grandchild; siblings, Art Berkey, and Carol Younis; and he was a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia A. Berkey; and siblings, Daniel Berkey, Aleta Berkey, and Barbara Ann Berkey.
A graveside service for Reynold and Patricia will be held at the Columbarium at Concord Township Cemetery, 11643 Concord Hambden Rd., Concord on July 29, 2022 at 1:00PM. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Berkey's home.
