Obituary of Floyd Tomblin, Jr

Floyd Tomblin, Jr. was born on September 6, 1930 in Towns, Georgia, Telfair County to the late Mr. and Mrs. Floyd and Lula Mae Tomblin. He was called home on March 4, 2022 surrounded by his loved ones. On March 14, 1951 he married the love of his life, Leslie Howard. He was a welder for Reighart Steel in Willoughby from 1957 until his retirement in 1995. Floyd loved sports. His favorite teams were the New York Yankees, Dallas Cowboys and The Golden State Warriors. His favorite basketball player was Seth Curry. He also enjoyed sitting in the garage and waving to the people as they passed by. Floyd was a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church and sung in the male choir for many years. He was the father of 7 children; Floyd Marie, Arthur L., Douglas E., and Kenny Tomblin, Ella Mae Rose-Wargo, Marcia Young; He is also survived by his brother, Arthur E. Tomblin; 15 grandchildren; his adopted sons, Zachary Askew, Jamie Hall, Jerome Boykin, Dino Johnson, and Joseph Johnson; special friends, Shirley Hankton and Bernice Johnson; and a host of great grandchildren, extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Leslie; son, Jackie Ray Hall; sisters, Juanita Nelson, Emma Lue Hicks, Nancy Alvin Tomblin Askew; and brother, John Henry Tomblin. Visitation will be Saturday, March 12, 2022 from 11:00AM until the service at noon at New Hope Baptist Church, 428 W. Jackson St., Painesville, Ohio 44077. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Painesville, Ohio.
