Obituary of Herl Yeary

Herl Yeary, age 80, passed away February 6, 2022 at his home in Harpersfield, Ohio. He was born November 30, 1941 in Jonesville, Virginia to the late Hobert Yeary Jr. and Inez (Sergent) Yeary. Herl was a United States Army Veteran honorably serving from 1960 to 1963 in the 4th Infantry Division and 1st Calvary Infantry Division. He went to work for Parker Hannifin and retired after 41 years. He was a member of Temple Lodge #28 F&AM, a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Cleveland, the American Legion Post in Willoughby, Eastlake V.F.W. Post 3863, as well as Madison Small Game Gun Club and Crooked Creek (TRW) Gun Club. He enjoyed going to flea markets, tractor show with his sidekick, Bill Gore, and gun shows with his friend Bob Lesko. Herl attended Christian Life Church in Mentor for 60 years. He is survived by his wife, Roberta (Nee: Hammonds); daughter, Tammy (Todd) Greathouse; grandchildren, Ryan (Tori) Greathouse and Rachel (Tyler) Vystrcil; great granddaughter, Gemma Greathouse; and brothers, Billy C. (Betty) Yeary and Joey D. Yeary. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Noon at Mentor Municipal Cemetery, 6881 Hopkins Rd., Mentor, Ohio 44060 with Rev. Robert Meredith presiding.
