Obituary of Floyd J. Campbell

Mr. Floyd J. Campbell, age 94 passed away December 10, 2021 at his home in Painesville. He was born July 9, 1927 in Painesville to the late William Edgar and Flossie Davis Campbell. He was a lifelong Painesville resident. Mr. Campbell worked as the Produce Manager and the Painesville A&P grocery store then Lake County Telegraph as a the Circulation Manager. He also worked for Gates Belts and Hoses as a District Sales Manager working with the NAPA Auto Parts Stores. He then worked at Capital Towers in Nashville, TN. He returned to Painesville and worked as the Groundskeeper for the Garfield Home taking care of the grounds for the Presidential Home. After is retirement he owned and operated Papa Jim's Music at the Painesville Fairgrounds and Campbell Nursery and enjoyed landscaping his yard. He enjoyed fishing, camping and blue grass music. He ran the Blue Grass Jam at the Painesville Senior Center and Fairport Harbor Senior Center. He also belonged to Painesville Elks Lodge # 549 and Lake County Rod & Gun Club. He was also active with the Lake County Nurseryman's Association. He is survived by his children Demetra Fuldauer, Douglas Campbell, Joseph (Kay) Campbell, Ronald (Cindy) Campbell and Christine Campbell. He also leaves his grandchildren Michael Campbell, Genise Campbell, Eric Campbell, Brett Campbell, David Campbell, Andrew Campbell, Saul Padilla and 12 great grandchildren. He also leaves his twin sister Flossie Jeane Drake. Mr. Campbell was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 69 years Merry Christine Campbell, grandson Scott Campbell, siblings Kenneth, Ruby, Dorothy, Marilyn, and William. Private services were held. Arrangements by Johnson Funeral Home, Painesville.
