Obituary of Patricia A. Szeker

Heaven gained a beautiful angel when Patricia A. “Patti” Szeker, 75 of Mentor passed away on November 20, 2021. Born October 30, 1946 in Youngstown, Ohio to the late Frank and Pauline (Wrona) Nalepa, Patti was a resident of Mentor for the past 28 years, and for the last 10 years she enjoyed spending winters in Largo, Florida. She retired from Avery Dennison after 25 years of service working in Payroll and Customer Service. Prior to Avery Dennison she worked for Quartz Scientific. Patti was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Mentor, Painesville Elks Lodge # 549 and Largo Elks Lodge # 2159. She enjoyed shopping, going to casinos, and cooking for family and friends. Patti cherished family meals and celebrations and loved spending time with her grandchildren who adoringly called her Mimi. Patti is survived by her son Frank (Julie) Szeker, daughter Jennifer (Jim) McLaughlin, grandchildren Justin, Kaitlyn, Marissa and Alexis. She also leaves her brother Larry (Nancy, deceased) Nalepa, nephews Jared and Brett Nalepa, extended family in Youngstown, and countless friends she loved as family. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Nancy Nalepa. The family will receive friends Friday from 10 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home, 368 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, Ohio. A prayer service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Burial and a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
