Obituary of John Lewis McClurg

John Lewis McClurg July 20 1958 – June 28 2021 John Lewis McClurg, 62, of Los Angeles, California, (he grew up in Mentor-on-the-Lake OH), passed away on June 28 2021 in Los Angeles. Cremation will be in Los Angeles, and Memorial service information will be forthcoming. John was born in Cleveland OH. He went to high school at Mentor High School and graduated in 1976. He went on to earn a B.A. in Music Business from Heidelberg University. He was self-employed since 2001 as an Independent Entertainment Professional at Pictures by Tiger and Angels Touch Inc. He enjoyed photography and videography and made a living doing what he loved. He was mentioned on the Dr. Phil show as the go-to photographer in LA for child actor portfolios. He was involved with the production of the movies Tripfall, Fear Runs Silent, Paper Bullets, Silicon Towers, Jack of Hearts, Microchip Jones, and he produced the Joey and Elise show and Gene’s Nightclub. Additionally he appeared in over 10 feature films, 25 TV shows, and several web episodes including Guilty By Suspicion w/ Robert DeNiro, Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey / Grimm PD, Thelma & Louise dir. Ridley Scott, Switch / Dir. Blake Edwards, Shattered dir. Wolfgang Petersen, In The Line Of Duty / SWAT & Stunt, L.A. LAW Bailiff - several episodes, MTV Air Guitar Comp / Grimm Reaper, No Problem! Telemundo, Hollywood Complex / Showtime, Naked Gun 2 ½ Leslie Neilson, Mom &Dad Save The World /Jon Lovitz, Jay Leno Show Superman, Dr. Phil Show / Featured as Award – ATI. He also had a couple of sitcoms in the works. He provided karaoke and produced fashion and talent shows all over LA. He selflessly cared for those in need both friends and acquaintances, shopping, transporting to appointments, cooking, entertaining—he spent time visiting so many who just needed companionship. John is survived by his sister Michelle McClurg and brother Jeff McClurg both of Fairport Harbor OH. He is preceded in death by his father John B. McClurg, and mother Janice B. McClurg (Baldwin).
