Obituary of Philip D. Lamos

Philip D. Lamos, age 53 of Painesville Twp., passed away June 11, 2021 at Metro Health Medical Center. He was born July 2, 1967 in Painesville to Dan and Elizabeth (McCormick) Lamos, and was a lifelong area resident. Phil was a graduate of Thomas W. Harvey High School, John Carroll University and Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. He was employed as Chief Legal Counsel with Lauren A. Helbling Chapter 13 Trustee in Cleveland. He was a member of the Lake County Bar Association and Cuyahoga County Bar Association. Phil authored numerous articles in various law publications and served as a subject matter expert in the legal profession. He loved music and enjoyed reading and learning about anything he could. He also enjoyed sports of all kinds and was a part owner of the Saskatchewan Rough Riders Football Team. Phil is survived by his wife Liz (Nagy), son Matthew and daughter Emily, parents Dan and Elizabeth Lamos, brother Andrew and his nephews Nathan and Colin Lamos. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Margaret and George McCormick and Ralph and Mary Lamos. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home, 368 Mentor Avenue, Painesville. A celebration of Phil's life and a memorial mass will be held in the fall, Phil's favorite season of the year.
