Obituary of Albert Gregory Gibson

Albert Gregory Gibson, age 64 of Painesville, died on June 11, 2021 at his home with his wife by his side. Born in Painesville, Ohio to the proud parents of Albert Louis and Merrell Lee (Spikes) Gibson on February 18, 1957. Albert Gibson was born the first child of seven children. He attended Painesville City Schools and graduated from Thomas W. Harvey High School in 1975. He continued his education and graduated from Max S Hayes where he went on to work construction for Local Union 404 retiring in 2007 after 30 years. Even after retiring at the age of 50 Albert willingly continued to be a hard-working man. He enjoyed doing house repairs for family, friends, and many acquaintances he met along his years. He had a huge love for scrapping. You would always see a beautiful front and backyard, because he loved growing plants and various kinds of flowers, he always kept his place looking lively. He was nicknamed “Pete French” because of his love of cooking gourmet meals. He truly loved watching his hometown sports teams, the Cleveland Browns, Cavaliers, and especially the Indians, he stayed loyal to his teams. His loyalty dug deeper than just sports, he devoted any extra time he had to making sure his family always had anything and everything they wanted. He was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer eight months ago, the doctors said he only had two months left to live, he was encouraged to keep fighting for life. He not only fought he survived much longer than most expected. Not once did he lose faith or perseverance, he never once thought of quitting. He would comfort and reassure his family that everything would be okay. He made his family so proud, words cannot express what an amazing Dad, Brother, Uncle, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather he was. He will be missed but definitely remembered. He can now rest peacefully. Peace King. Albert leaves behind his wife, Elizabeth Ann Glaze-Gibson; children, Derik D. (Nadia) Gibson, Alisha N. Gibson, Demetrius A. Gibson, and Dominic L.
