Obituary of Thomas David Trexler

Thomas David "Tim" Trexler, age 72 of Perry passed away on April 30, 2021. He was born on August 8, 1948 in Painesville to the late William and Vera (Nelson) Trexler. Tim was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was stationed in Korea. He retired from General Electric in 2000 and had previously worked for IRC Fibers. Tim was a one of a kind, compassionate, selfless man, who was dedicated to his family and helping others. He enjoyed stock car racing, tinkering, camping, and his morning coffee clutch with friends. Tim was a member of the American Legion Brakeman Post #336 and the Fairport Harbor VFW. Survivors are his wife, Lina (nee: Stevenson); sons, Sean (Diane) Kirk of Richmond Hill, GA, and Scott English of Perry; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; siblings, Diane (Jerry) Judd, Jack Trexler, and Charlotte (Tom) Besselman. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Kirk; and brothers, Robert (Nancy) Trexler and Danny (Diane) Trexler. Visitation will be Monday, May 3, 2021 from 5-7PM at Johnson Funeral Home, 368 Mentor Ave., Painesville, Ohio 44077. Mass of Christian Burial will be, Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at 10:00AM at St. Mary Church, 242 N. State St., Painesville, Ohio 44077. Please meet at the church. Burial with military honors will follow in Perry Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to American Legion Brakeman Post #336, 60 Chester St., Painesville, Ohio 44077.
