Brenda Marlin-Owens, age 67 passed away March 19, 2021 at Continuum Healthcare in Mentor. She was born May 23, 1953 in Madison, Ohio and resided in Painesville before moving to Cleveland and settling in Euclid for the past 8 years. Brenda was a member of Union Pentecostal United Holy Church of America in Painesville where she served as Choir Director. She enjoyed writing poetry and painting. She was a self-made fashion coordinator and was always willing to encourage and motivate those in need. She was most proud of being a 2016 graduate of Colorado Technical University. She had been employed with the Veterans Administration in Cuyahoga County. She is survived by her husband of almost 35 years, Joe Owens whom she married on May 17th, children Michael, Cara, Danny, Charlisse and Brenna, her father Ulis Hester and brother Mark, 16+ grandchildren, and 2 godchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother Edith Stewart Hester, son Joseph Jerome, grandson My'Kel and grandmother Carrie Brooks. The family will receive friends Saturday, March 27th from 11 a.m. to Noon at New Hope Baptist Church, 428 W. Jackson Street, Painesville. Funeral services will follow at Noon. Masks and social distancing is requested.
