Obituary of Donald Jackson Radabaugh

Donald Jackson “Jack" Radabaugh, age 83, of Jefferson, Ohio died peacefully on January 21, 2021 at his home. He was born on November 29, 1937 in Masontown, WV to the late Franklin H. and Mary Helen (Strahan) Radabaugh. He graduated in June 1956 from Thompson High School in Thompson, Ohio. He participated in football, basketball and baseball. He was awarded the most valuable player award and was voted outstanding player of the year his senior year. Two weeks after graduation he joined the Marines. Jack served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1956-1958. He worked for the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local #18 until his retirement in 2004. Jack enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and being outside mowing his grass. He is survived by his daughters, Michelle (John McWilliams) Dunaway of Berea, KY and Marsha (Douglas) Starkey of Andover, Ohio; grandchildren Zachary and Andrew Jackson "A.J." Dunaway, Tony (Leslie) Starkey, and Kate (Kevin) Strauser; great grandchildren, Wyatt and Colton Strauser, Delphia Starkey; sisters, Betty Marie Border of Waldo, FL and Edna Parrish of Dade City, FL; In-Laws, Mona Radabaugh of Thompson, Ohio, James Marshall, Jr. of Panama City, FL and Michael Marshall of Zephyrhills, FL. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces and extended family. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Frances L. (Marshall) Radabaugh, brother Frank Radabaugh, Jr.; and brother-in-laws, William Parrish, Richard Border, nephews David and Mitchell Parrish, nieces Doreen (Radabaugh) Rogers and Darlene J. Radabaugh. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 26, 2021 from 5-7 PM at Johnson Funeral Home, 368 Mentor Ave., Painesville, Ohio 44077. A private funeral service will be held with burial in Maple Grove Cemetery in Thompson, Ohio with military honors. The family would like to thank Jack's caregivers for their compassion and love that was given to him the last five years: his grandson Zac Dunaway, Stacy Velazquez, Laurie Beasley, Infinity Health Care Solutions and Melissa Thompson.
