Obituary of Melba Margaret Lambo

Melba Margaret (Smith) Lambo, age 78, passed away suddenly on January 5, 2021 at TriPoint Medical Center in Concord. She was born December 6, 1942 in Helena, Alabama to the late Willard L. and Ruby (Butler) Smith. She was employed in retail at Higbee's in Cleveland. Following that she enjoyed working alongside her late husband and children at the family business, Lambo Nursery. Melba was a talented artist in high school, so much that the teacher had her take over and teach the class. Her favorite hobbies included ceramics, knitting and reading. She looked forward to the holidays and spending time with family. She will be remembered as a very caring and giving person who welcomed everyone into her home. If someone was in need she was always willing to help anyway she could. She enjoyed her pets, including her dog Archie. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Samuel B. "Brian" Lambo III of Perry, Kim (Brandon) Fry of Chardon and Paul L. Lambo of Columbus. She also leaves her grandchildren Austen and Madisen Fry and uncles Jimmy (Wanda) Smith, Clyde Smith both of Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Charles Smith and granddaughter Kaitlynn Fry. Private family services will be held.
