Obituary of Kenneth Allen Libby

Kenneth Allen Libby, 64, passed away peacefully at home on June 30, 2020 in Lehigh Acres, FL. He was born on November 09, 1955 in Painesville, Ohio to Richard and Marjorie Libby. Ken grew up in Painesville, Ohio where he graduated from Riverside High School in 1974. After high school he attended Bowling Green State University, where he was a music major and active in concert, jazz, and marching bands. Ken held a distinguished career in information technology as a computer engineer, corporate training specialist and competitive analysis expert for over 35 years at various organizations including Floyd Brown Engineering (Marion, OH), Data General (Westboro, MA), and EMC Corporation (Hopkinton, MA). Ken was an accomplished classical and jazz trombonist, who loved to participate with local music organizations in the New England region as well as Southwest Florida in recent years. He was an avid sports fan, following his beloved Cleveland Indians and Browns, and always falling back on the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots as backup favorites. He loved music in all forms, from classical to jazz and rock, and enjoyed attending concerts and performances. He and his wife, Sandra enjoyed travel and photography, experiencing trips to locations such as Alaska, Nova Scotia, Cuba, and Eastern Europe. Ken was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Carole Wheeler. He is survived by his wife Sandra Steele, children Sarah (Chris) Yanovich, Jon (Amanda) Libby and James Libby, grandchildren David and Page Yanovich, siblings Debbi Libby, Susan (Richard) Davis, and Richard (Char) Libby, nieces Heather (Dan) Nicholson and Erin (Kyler) Daniel, nephews Patrick (Kirsten) Rowan, Corey Wheeler, Ryan (Katie) Wheeler, Rick Libby (Terri) grand-niece Camryn Libby and grand-nephews, Dean Daniel and Nate Wheeler, Jude Libby. As per Ken’s wishes, there will be no funeral services. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be sent to Healthcare Network of Southwest Florida, PO Box 877 Immokalee, FL 34143.
