Earl Tuff

Obituary of Earl E. Tuff

Mr. Earl E. Tuff, age 73 of Painesville OH entered into eternal rest on February 9, 2020. He was born on August 25, 1946 to the late Clarence Tuff and Elease Spikes in Eastman, Georgia. He grew up attending Faith Tabernacle Church under the leadership of Elder Roy L. Barclay and was a graduate of Painesville Harvey High School. In 1966, a fire occurring at the family’s business claimed the life of his father and Earl then picked up where he left off, rebuilding First Street Auto Body where he worked until his life’s departure. Earl had a beautiful soul and was a person who never met a stranger. He was a very selfless man, and helped many people throughout his journey. He was a lover of cars and also enjoyed building, fixing and repairing just about anything and he had the hard working hands to prove it. He looked forward to traveling annually to Georgia and Mississippi, often watched westerns, professional wrestling, and Sanford and Son. If he wasn’t at the “Shop” you would most likely find him sitting in his back patio listening to gospel music or some down home blues. When discussing matters of difference or opinion, his final decision would most likely be “Well, whatever you think is best” or “How about we go with what you want to go with”. He has left to cherish his memory his children, son Johnathan Tuff and daughter Arica Tuff, both of Indianapolis, siblings Rose Tuff Edwards, Joyce Tuff, Eric Tuff, and Joel Martin Jr., loving family members Minister CJ (Tricia) Spikes, James (Lisa) Spikes, Tanisha (Miguel) Curry Solivan and Malcolm Curry, all of Painesville, 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Visitation will be Saturday, February 15, 2020 from 10:00AM until the funeral service at 11:00AM at New Hope Baptist Church, 428 W. Jackson St., Painesville, Ohio 44077. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
