Obituary of Matthew F. Skof
Matthew "Tate" Skof, age 59 of Painesville passed away April 28, 2019 at his home from natural causes. He was born June 19, 1959 in Painesville to Margaret (Lesniak) Skof and the late Joseph Skof.
Tate enjoyed cooking for family and friends. He also enjoyed the times spent with them and was always happy to see whoever he met. He loved his pets and attending Cleveland sporting events. Tate was a Past Exalted Ruler of Painesvile Elks Lodge # 549 and a member of Painesville Moose Lodge # 490.
He is survived by his mother Margaret Skof; brother Joseph (Carolyn) Skof and sister Christine (Randy) Breedlove, brother-in-law Robert Gillooly, niece Renee (Scott) Gillooly-Hlebak, nephew Robert E. (Michelle) Gillooly, nieces Ashley Skof, Katie Skof, Sarah Breedlove and Amanda Breedlove, and his aunt Mary Nichols and cousin Virginia Nichols Barber; great nieces and nephews, Riley, Ethan, Kara, Westen, and Dorian. He was preceded in death by his father, his sister Mary Ellen Gillooly and grandmother Gabriella Wyant.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 Friday at St. Mary Church, 242 N. State Street, Painesville with Rev. Peter Bang officiating. Please meet at the church.
Burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery, Painesville.
