Obituary of Barbara Ann Booher

“Sit”, “Stay”, “Come” and “Leave It”!  Those who knew her will never forget those words. Heaven gained one heck of a dog trainer on Thursday, December 27, 2018. Barbara A. Booher traded in her motorized scooter for a brand new pair of wings after battling many health issues.Barb’s dedication to the canine community was her passion.

She trained thousands of dogs over 30 years in her “Happy Tails” dog obedience classes. She bred and showed award-winning champion German Shorthaired Pointers under the “Sonnenschein” kennel name. Over the years, her life was also filled with dog grooming, crafting, painting and many hours dedicated to her 1975 Harvey High School class reunion committee. She was a longtime employee of Hawley’s Flowers and Bauer Supply Co.

Barb joined her beloved father, Frank and numerous four legged angels that left before her as she crossed the Rainbow Bridge. She has left behind her dear mother, Bettye; brother and wife, Bob and Debbie; sister and husband, Betsy and Jim; brother and wife, Bill and Kimberly; sister and fiancé, Beverly and James; brother and wife, Barry and Michelle and brother, Brian. Also left behind; nieces and nephews, Kristy, Ross, David, Jeff, Katrina, Jack, Renee, Ashley, Michael and their families. Her dedicated friend and student, David Poling, will dearly miss Barb. Her friends in the dog show world where she shared her humor, love and dedication to the sport will also miss her.Her dear fur babies, Frankie and Gwendolyn for whom she dedicated her life, have been placed in loving homes.
