Obituary of Blanche Freeman

Blanche E. Freeman of Painesville, Ohio departed this life February 23, 2018.  She was born March 17, 1953 in Painesville to the late Arthur J. and Ann T. Becks.

 

She attended Painesville City Schools and Lakeland Community College for a short time.  She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Calvary C.M.E. Church in Painesville.  Blanche participated in Christian Youth Fellowship (CYF); attended Sunday School, sang in the Youth choir and served on the Youth Usher Board (shortly before her passing she had decided to join the Senior Usher Board).

 

She moved to Pittsburgh around 1975 where she met, fell in love and later joined in holy matrimony with Otis Freeman, Jr. until his death in April 1999.

 

Blanche returned to Painesville in early 2000 with her daughter, Monique Sherrell (whom she adored and mutually had a very close bond) and moved back into the family home until her death.

 

Blanche worked for a number of years at several food chains, a Painesville hotel and S&B Restaurants in Pittsburgh.  She loved cooking, traveling, dancing, singing and attending church.

 

Blanche was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur J. and Ann T. Becks (nee: Askew); brother, Kevin Becks; sister, Ann L. Becks.

 

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving daughter, Monique S. Freeman of Painesville; brothers, Arthur J. (Cheryl) Becks, Jr. and Kenneth Becks both of Painesville; aunts, Nancy Askew of Painesville, Ruth Becks of Atlanta, GA and Marjean Lawson of Columbus; nieces, nephews and numerous friends.

 

She was a loving wife, mother, sister and niece.  She loved the Lord and embraced life everyday.  She will be greatly missed but will forever remain in the hearts of those she loved.

 

Visitation will be Friday, March 9, 2018 from 6-7PM with a memorial service following at 7:00PM at Johnson Funeral Home, 368 Mentor Ave., Painesville, Ohio 44077.
