Obituary of George Kline
Mr. George J. Kline, age 94 of Painesville passed away August 10, 2017. He was born March 16, 1923 in Greenville, Pennsylvania to the late George F. and Lucille Burke Kline.
George graduated from Gannon College. He owned and operated his own accounting office in Perry. Prior to that he was a manager of Woolworth’s and Scott’s stores. He was a member of First Church, Congregational in Painesville, a 69-year member of Tyrian-Commonwealth Masonic Lodge in Erie, PA, Al Koran Shrine of Cleveland, past President of Eagle Shrine Club of Lake and Geauga Counties, and a member of Kiwanis Club of Painesville.
He served in the Army Air Corps from 1943-1946.
George is survived by his wife Janice (Lytle) Kline. They were married September 8, 1951. They would have celebrated 66 years of marriage next month. He is also survived by daughter, Stephanie Jan; son, John Kline (Victoria Veale); daughter, Laurie Kline (Michael Ostrow); and daughter, Elizabeth Kline; grandchildren, Emily (Jake) Kouwe; and Joshua Burke. He also leaves his brother Dr. Albert Kline. He was preceded in death by his parents.
George and Janice enjoyed many years of traveling to Europe, the Panama Canal, and throughout the United States and Canada. George liked getting together with friends in clubs and in sports such as fishing, golfing, bowling, and going to the horse races.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, August 22nd at 11:00 a.m. in the Memorial Chapel of First Church, Congregational, 22 Liberty Street, Painesville, Ohio, 44077. Rev. Thomas Cofer will officiate. A visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Temple Lodge # 28 F&AM will conduct a Masonic Memorial Ceremony prior to the service.
