Carl Leroy Mullen age 92 of Fairport Harbor, died on June 5, 2022 at Burton Healthcare. He was born on February 6, 1930 in Noxen, PA to the late Howard and Sadie (nee: Ruff) Mullen. Carl served in the U.S Navy on the USS Corry DD817 during The Korean Conflict. He enjoyed flying string controlled airplanes, hunting, and fishing. Fishing was his passion. Carl was an active member of the Fairport Harbor Rod and Reel from the beginning of its existence and was honored with a lifetime membership. He helped build the club to what it is today. He always said, "It's your club, help out, and teach a kid to fish." Carl also enjoyed his breakfast club with the boys at Giant Eagle and all of the staff there. He was loved and will be missed by many.
He is survived by his sons, Carl L. Mullen, Jr. and Dale R. Mullen; and his step-son, Mark Mehallic; sister, Barb Crossett; he was also an uncle, great uncle, great great uncle, and great great great uncle. In addition to his parents, Carl is preceded in death by his wives, Muriel D. (nee: Shade) Mullen and Florence G. (nee: Presock) Mullen; siblings, Howard Mullen, Bill Mullen, Anna Lamoreaux, Alberta Miner, Lillian Field, and Ruby Mullen.
A graveside service will be on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at 10:00AM in Riverside Cemetery with military honors.
