Bonnie Thomas, age 76, of Painesville, passed away Monday, April 12, 2021, at her home. She was born July 19, 1944 to Thomas G. and Rena G. Sykes, in Eastman, GA. Bonnie attended Peabody Middle School and Peabody High School. After graduating, she joined her mother in Painesville where she later married her husband of 53 years, Mozelle Thomas. Bonnie worked for Bethandale/Worthington Industries for more than 35 years and enjoyed several years of retirement. She leaves to mourn her, two daughters, Tracy (Phillip) Mathews, and Lisa Thomas, Her three grandchildren, Camille (Greg) Mikut, Cierra Marshall and Caitlyn Marshall, her great grandchildren Braylon Hairston, Madison Mikut, Chase Clark and McKenize Mikut, her sisters Louise Chase, Vinell Sykes, Glenda Samuel and Clarice (Marcus) Eudell, in-laws Louella Thomas, Mildred Anderson, Celestine and Joe Thomas, Louis and Brenda Thomas Bernard Merriweather and Gwendolyn (Gary) Henderson and a host of beloved nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews. In addition to her parents Thomas G and Rena G. Sykes, Bonnie has joined sisters Pearlie Mae Sykes, Donnie L. King, Laura Williams, Madeline Seals, Sarah Lee Sykes, and brothers, Richard and Tommy Sykes. A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 16, 2021 at 1:00PM at Riverside Cemetery, 398 Riverside Dr., Painesville, Ohio 44077.
