Obituary of Virginia Etter

Virginia Dare (Snyder) Etter, 87, of Madison, OH, passed away on January 9, 2018, in Painesville, OH.

 

Virginia was born in Pocahontas County, WV, to Minnie Snyder on February 13, 1930.  She graduated from Green Bank High School in 1950 and went on to work as a night shift LPN at Lake East Hospital Emergency Room for 22 years.  She was a loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt, friend and neighbor with a generous heart, fun loving spirit, and an incredible love for animals.  She opened her home on many occasions to various family members.  As a long time member of Headlands Baptist Church she organized a card ministry that brought joy to her and many recipients through the years. 

 

Visitation will be held at Johnson Funeral Home, 368 Mentor Ave, Painesville, OH, 44077, on Monday, January 15, from 4:00-6:00pm with the funeral service immediately following, at 6:00pm, officiated by Pastor Jason Tatterson of Freedom Assembly. Burial will be in Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA.

 

Virginia is survived by her foster mother, Elva Turner of Painesville, OH, brother Fredrick Lambert of Brenda, AZ, sister Vikki Chinchar of Mentor, OH and many nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Lamuel Etter, ex-husband Thomas Alvin Cassell, mother Minnie Snyder, and sisters Shirley Horvath Ochovsky, Catherine McKim Taylor Woodard, Nellie Blizzard, and Karen Zukoski Sims. 

 

Virginia was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
