Richard Melvin Price, age 78, is now at peace after losing his battle with cancer on April 5, 2018. He attended Findlay High School, class of 1957 and The Ohio State University. He served our country in the United States Army from 1961-1964 living in Germany for a year with his wonderful wife Barbara Samer Price. He was a Carpenter, and proud lifetime member of Carpenter’s Local Union #435 and District Council. He helped build the Perry Nuclear Power Plant, many Lake County bridges and local malls. He was a long-time parishioner at St. Gabriel’s church and active in their 50+ club. He looked forward to his Thursday breakfast outing with is R.O.M.E.O. carpenters’ buddies. Over the years he was a proud member of the Elks in Painesville, the Slovenian & Hungarian Clubs, Senior Centers: Mentor, Painesville and Fairport. He enjoyed dancing, especially Friday night Polka with his friend Dee and making people smile.
Survivors include his loving children Becky Price, Debi Cole, Rick (Michel) Price, Amy (Mark) DiCrosta, cherished grandchildren Brandon, Dylan, Alex, Josh, Zac, and Joe; step-grandchildren Christina, Stephanie and Jamie; caring sister Charlene Paxton and niece Rhonda; loving sister-in-law Nancy Weitzel and nephew Tim Pohto, many nieces and his friend Dee Tarentino.
He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara and parents Melvin Reinhart and Madeline Boos Price.
Dick loved camping and traveling with his wife Barbara, including visiting all the states and Canadian provinces, Europe, Mexico and Australia.
Family will receive friends Monday, April 9th from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home, 368 Mentor Avenue (opposite Lake Erie College), Painesville. Services will be held Tuesday, April 10th at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with burial following at Evergreen Cemetery, Painesville.
