Helen A. (Demeter) Locotosh, age 105, died on March 17, 2018 at her home. She was born on August 23, 1912 in Painesville to the late Michael and Helen Demeter, founders of Demeter’s Florist.
Helen lived a long and beautiful life. She worked at Demeter’s Florist and Gail G. Grants Department Store in her younger years. She was a lifelong, active member of St. Mary Church and participated in many facets there, including the Mission Circle. Her Catholic religion was very important to her, her entire life. Helen loved her family and hearing about all their activities.
Survivors are her daughter, Phyllis Locotosh; daughter-in-law, Diane Locotosh; grandchildren, Christopher (Amanda) Locotosh, and Patrick (Loretta) Locotosh; great grandchildren, Zoe, Olivia, and Vivian; and many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Philip; son, Donald P.; and brothers, William, Frank, and Dr. Elmer Demeter.
A memorial mass will be held on Friday, March 23, 2018 at 11:00AM at St. Mary Catholic Church, 242 N. State St., Painesville with an hour visitation prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
