Ronald J. Kieffer, age 76 of Painesville, died on February 6, 2018 at Tripoint Hospital in Concord. He was born on February 8, 1941 in Detroit, MI to the late Edward and Hazel Kieffer.
Ron completed his undergraduate at Wayne State University and then earned a master's degree in chemical engineering from University of Michigan. He began his career at Proctor and Gamble in Cincinnati, Ohio. He then went on to become one of the first professors at Lakeland Community College where he taught math for 27 years. He and his wife also operated Sivon Mfg.
Ron was a member of Painesville United Methodist Church and the YMCA where he was on the Board of Managers for both the Outdoor Family Center and East End.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Charlotte (nee: Sivon), daughters, Bonnie (Jerry, Jr.) Judd of Streetsboro, Katie (Shawn) Ritts of Montville; grandchildren, Stephanie Judd and Jerry Judd, III both of Streetsboro, Shane (Mariah) Ritts of Leroy, Megan Ritts, and Anne Ritts both of Montville; and a brother, John (Mary) Kieffer of Carlton, MI.
He is preceded in death by his parents; step mother, Ann Kieffer; and sister, Jane McDaniel.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 2:00PM at Painesville United Methodist Church, 71 N. Park Pl., Painesville, Ohio 44077 with a visitation one hour prior. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery at a later date.
