Richard G. Dennis, 78 years old and former resident of Montville and Kirtland, and recently at The Residence of Chardon passed away peacefully on September 6, 2017. Devoted husband to Mona Dennis (Sorg), and loving father to Donna (Bob) Beech of Mentor, Steven (Tracy) Dennis of Montville and Scott (April) Dennis of Leroy. Loving grandfather to Kyle Dennis, Hallie Beech, and Tyler Dennis. Oldest of six siblings and big brother to Delores (Harold) Dietz of Woodsfield, Ron Dennis of Willoughby, Sharon (Lee) Houk of Mentor, Larry (Ellen) of Colorado and Susan (Wes) Clemens of Painesville, and uncle to several nieces and nephews, and brother-in-law to Jack and Sandy Sorg of Georgia. He was preceded in death by his wife Mona and parents Wayne and Hildress Dennis.
Richard was a 1957 graduate of Willoughby Union High School, and a retiree of Lincoln Electric Co. in Euclid with 44 years of dedicated employment. He was a strong man who believed in putting in a hard day at work or at home on his farm in Montville. An avid lover of stock car racing and drag racing, as well as traveling with his wife and hunting with family and friends.
Visitation will be Sunday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home, 368 Mentor Avenue (opposite Lake Erie College), Painesville.
Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Sunday with Dr. Jack Sorg officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Mentor Cemetery.
